The department of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Municipal Engineering is unique in Germany and was founded in 2001 through the integration of the three courses to meet the growing needs, above all in the regional building industry, for universally trained architects, civil engineers and municipal engineers.
The department of BCV was founded in 1991 as the department of Chemical Engineering / Process Technology. The first students were graduates of the former Engineering College in Senftenberg. Students were first enrolled in Process Technology in September 1992 and in Chemical Engineering...

Musical Education, with about 80 students, is far the smallest department at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences. An average of 15 musicians per semester make sure that the work mostly takes place in a stress-free and friendly atmosphere.
Since 1994, about 70 graduates have completed the training each year. Still, years after the political upheaval in the new federal states, the social dislocations are enormous, and the need for qualified experts in social services is as ever urgent. The service areas help, support and advice will grow in the long term, especially as the ageing of our society poses new problems.
